Propane and natural gas both provide clean-burning flames, but they suit different installations.
Propane fire pits connect to a propane tank, which makes them more flexible and easier to relocate because they do not require a permanent gas connection. Natural gas fire pits connect directly to your home’s natural gas line, providing a continuous fuel supply and generally lower operating costs, but they require a more permanent installation.
Some fire pits can be configured for either fuel type, depending on the model and setup.
We specifically recommend professional installation for most natural gas fire pits to ensure the gas connection is safe and complies with local building codes. Although some fire features include installation instructions, more complex gas installations should be handled professionally.
For fire and water bowls, professional installation is also recommended because the installation can involve gas, water, or both.
Most fire pits are tranported via specialized freight delivery carriers because they exceed parcel carrier shipping weight limits. This means your fire pit will be delivered to your or business by appointment, usually curbside.
For most freight deliveries, you will have to have someone to bring the product to your desired location on the property. It is standard that the delivery driver will not relocate your product, unless you have pre-ordered a White Glove Delivery Service (usually for an additional cost) that unpacks and moves the product to your desired location for you.
Even though our team goes above and beyond to support you from start to finish with every order, not every product offered is a Flame Havens branded product. Each individual product has it's own certifications and warranties included.
If you would like to know what certifications or warranties are available for your product, go to the corresponding product page and locate the Specifications tab for more information.
- What are the dimensions of your outdoor space?
- How many people do you want to comfortably accommodate?
- What level of heat output do you want from the fire feature?
A larger fire pit can create a stronger visual centerpiece and accommodate larger gathering areas, while smaller models are better suited to more compact patios and seating arrangements.
Many fire pits can be installed on a wooden deck or patio when appropriate heat protection is used. A fire-resistant mat, heat shield, or other approved protective surface may be required beneath the fire pit.
Always follow the specific product’s installation instructions and maintain adequate separation from combustible materials.
